Overall, the condition of the rental was acceptable. However, the temperature inside the home was 85 degrees inside and did not cool down until morning . While inspecting the house, we noted that the upstairs handrail was loose and inspection revealed that it had been repaired previously and the workmanship was poorly done. The end in question had been attached to the Sheetrock alone with no stud to attach to. There is no way that this will hold. The previous repairs included poor work with regard to texture.
When I spoke to the wife, through an interpreter, I was told that she was aware as the rail had been loose several times. I told her that we did not want to be held responsible and she said not to worry about it because they were aware. This concerns me because a handrail is a safety issue and someone could have been injured if it had failed. Overall, I would not recommend that anyone leases this property. The man identified as Joseph disagreed that they knew anything about this. If we had caused this problem, we would have no problem spending the cost of repair contacted the client but instead he chooses to be dishonest and we had to pay $300 for something that we did not do.
