“A super stay where we were looked after really well - thank you ”

“Stayed many years ago and high standards have remained. Beautiful gardens. Only downside was the dinner menu which did not change over the three nights we stayed. When we commented on this, we were told that out of high season, guests didn’t stay for more than one or two nights.”

“The quality and comfort food etc was excellent but my disappointment at check-in was paying a 3,5 % surcharge because I was paying by a cash card ( not even Amex or Diners) especially when Hotels .com guarantees the amount you pay at the time of booking This surcharge should be on the booking details. I have booked Hotels in Italy where they state payment in cash only no cards”

“Richard and Helen run an immaculate guest house with lots of evidence of their own travels. They love to chat which makes you feel very welcome. Breakfast is taken in the sunny spacious conservatory and starts with a cornucopia of fresh fruit chopped into a salad. The cooked menu includes scrambled egg with smoked salmon, full English and Cornish kippers. We needed nothing in our room - everything was supplied, down to some very good books to read. Richard and Helen know the area well and made……

“Lovely hotel in a beautiful spot. We had a Seaview room on the second floor which was lovely but quite small. I would expect, for the price, there to be complimentary water in the room but there wasn’t. Dinner was superb. It was a job sometimes to get served, there weren’t many staff around. Could have done with a little more attention at breakfast. ”

“Very good service and breakfast. The room is very spacious. Unfortunately, we could not secure a room with the sea view this time as we had a family room.”
