"This was our second stay at the Hotel da Oliveira. All being well, we shall be returning again. It is a most elegant space in the historical quarter, with themed guest rooms (ours was named after the inscription of the city on the UNESCO World Heritage List). LOCATION: Situated at the very heart of the Centro Historico, the hotel is a short taxi ride from the train station and the bus station (even walkable with light luggage). HISTORY: The elegant breakfast verandah of the hotel opens out...

"Hotel is in desperate need of a FULL renovation, rooms are small and almost none amenities, breakfast was poor and served in a box. We stayed at room 305, the door dint close completely and we can see the light from the hallway it was disturbing to sleep. If you want to charge your mobile devices there was only one electric plug. No AC and during a hot summer night it was hard to sleep. Basically the only good thing is the location."

"The riverside balcony rooms were excellent for absorbing the views and street life. The apartments were nice but had no view."

"Never have I ever stayed in a castle before. Very unique room in the castle tower. Period details galore but also with modern finishes. Hosts were very nice and any communication with them was fast and courteous. Would have loved to have a small fridge in room but...I will say the bed was a bit too hard for my liking and pillows not firm enough. Clean, clean and clean. Just a short walk to the main part of city"
