"I received a call 24 hours before our arrival (on New Years Eve),telling me the booking cancelled due to 'gas issues' in the apartment. I was told they would arrange for Expedia to search for alternative accomodation. I was ,however,scepital about this and proceeded to try and find accomodation myself,without success at such short notice. I then received another call after approx 1 hour,telling me now sorted but may be put in one of the hotel rooms rather than the apartment. . On arrival,the...

"Stayed for a long weekend; perfect location and great amenities. We were luckily enough to see a red squirrel! The crows were a little annoying but very little you can do about that, they must have been nesting so we had our very own personal early alarm call! Would reccommend the cottage and would definitely go back if visiting the region again. Only thing to mention would be the mould that was starting to develop on the bathroom ceiling."

"We were 7 adults and 4 children (7-10 ages) and this house was so spacious, we never saw the children. There was a small park opposite too. The bedrooms were a good size with en suites. A lovely patio, a real sun trap and giant gas bar b q. Plenty of crockery and utensils. A second enormous fridge in utility room. We really did have a fabulous week. "

"The property is undoubtedly small. It was very clean and comfortable - a perfect base for exploring this wonderful area. Plenty of grocery stores and pubs/restaurants in surrounding area. A very steep narrow staircase leading to the second level of the property. I note this has been mentioned in other reviews too. Overall, my wife and I were very satisfied with the property."

"We had a fantastic stay in Ambleside, largely due to the location of this property. A 5 minute walk from the centre of town and lots of restaurants and pubs but far enough away from the centre to be private. Amazing views. A little difficult to find in the first place but once we located it, all was good! Thank you!"

"Had a great long weekend at the property. Had loads of stuff there to use the kitchen to its full potential. Was lovely and warm and everyone had plenty of space in the accommodation. We were able to celebrate Christmas with my mum who is going to Guatemala next month and won’t be there. A few tiny tweaks will make this a perfect let but already great as it is."

Keswick Easter holiday visit

"Stayed here with my daughter as a base for enjoying some waking. Really enjoyed our stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We only had breakfasts there but it was really tasty with good service. The venue is very nice with a sense of history to it. Room was spacious and comfortable. May be in the process of getting refreshed as some parts seemed very fresh and modern while other bits looked more traditional. Great value for a very pleasant place to stay and a perfect base. "

"This hotel was perfect. Walking distance to the centre of Windermere with lots of bars and cafes. Additionally great bus links although we chose to drive which was equally convenient as there was onsite parking. You can take boat trip a 15/20 min walk away. Shower is basic but the hotel room was stunning and a really comfy bed with smart tv. Overall extremely happy and would stay again :) "

"Let me start by saying thank you to the whole team for making our recent stay so incredible. We were with you last week Wednesday - Friday. We were put in one of the upper level rooms with a partial view of the lake and it was a fantastic room. From our very first interaction with security at the gate, to checking in with David who was excellent, and all of our interactions whilst we were with you, we had a lovely time. We also booked Thermal journey and a treatment each which we had on the Thursday, the spa was equally as impressive. We also had the pleasure of meeting Puppy Holly (and Tim) which was one of my fiancés highlights. Special mention to Mel in the Winander bar who was lovely and we had several conversations with."
