I booked a stay at Baymont by Wyndham in Pooler/Savannah through Expedia, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The hotel was extremely dirty—carpets weren’t vacuumed, the floors were stained and littered with trash, and the entire place had an awful smell. My room was filthy, with dirty sheets and towels, a grimy tub, a filthy toilet, and even long black hairs in the tissue box. Some electrical sockets were missing covers, which seemed like a safety issue, and the elevator inspection had been out of date since March 2024. To make matters worse, the dumpsters were overflowing, and the indoor pool was actually green.
The only positive was the staff, who were kind and professional, but unfortunately, their hospitality couldn’t make up for the severe cleanliness and maintenance issues.
I contacted Expedia to cancel my reservation one day early so I could move to a cleaner hotel, but they refused to accommodate my request. Given the unacceptable conditions of the hotel, I was extremely disappointed that Expedia wouldn’t allow any flexibility. This experience has made me reconsider booking through Expedia in the future.
