"The location and size is great, this place has a lot of potential but it needs a lot of attention. It needs a deep clean. For example there was a lot of cob webs, the chairs outside were very dusty, those details matter. The bed is sinking in the middle. Also the place needs a lot of repairs, for example there was a loose floor plank, and the bathroom door is coming apart. The coffee station is not appealing. Overall this could be a great little place but it appears no attention has been given...

"The Getaway in DHS is a real gem. It’s four apartments constructed around a lovely walled courtyard. The location is in the foothills out of the way but really close to everything. We loved the decor. The comfy king bed was good for watching Netflix and sleeping. Eric, the host is great a genuinely concerned, available owner. We will definitely stay here on a future visit"

"Came for a family wedding and this house was just perfect. Immaculate and very well equipped for our adult group. Even prettier than the pictures. We had a problem with the TV and they came right away to fix it! I will stay here again on our next visit to Palm Springs!"

"Very difficult check in. But the stay was wonderful. The check-in gal is a darling asian lady who speaks NO english. But she's a hard worker keeping the property rustic and beautiful. We especially enjoyed the 6 kittens on the property she takes good care of. We'd stay here again but in a larger unit."

"This apartment is comfortably set up with all the amenities needed for a short or long stay. The location was perfect for going either to Joshua Tree or Mt San Jacinto or Palm Springs. I loved the mid century modern decor, probably because it triggered nostalgia for my youthful days. Pool was nice for cooling off."

"We loved our stay here for one week! Excellent (quiet) location and lots of fun playing bean bag toss. Accommodation was very comfortable and clean. We were fortunate to have the entire place to ourselves for the most part. Would have been a different experience if others were also renting the other 2 places. We decided it would be great to rent all 3 spots for a family vacation. Would have liked to have the sliding gate to the property be lockable. Other than that - everything was really great....

"We loved the location. The unit had holes on the ceiling in the shower and in one of the bedrooms. They were covered, but they still scared my daughter, and were quite unsightly. We are a family of four that stayed for three nights. Only four bath towels were provided, and one wash cloth. At least a second set would have helped. Also, no floor coverings/bath mats in the bathroom and with two kids water gets everywhere. There was a discrepancy for check out time between the email (11am) provided...
