Old Monterey Golf Hotel

"We stayed three nights from 12/23-12/26. The rooms were good. Our group of six people (three rooms) reserved for the Christmas Buffet, which was definitely overpriced for the price of $89 per person. Food was cold, and not very many options. More cafeteria style than an opulent buffet as advertised. All of us were extremely disappointed with the quality of the food and the cold ambiance of the room. "

"Great location near old fisherman’s wharf. We went for a quick one night stay so it was perfect. I love staying at a different Monterey hotel until we find out forever one… our room was near the busy street and you could hear traffic/trucks going down the street. That’s probably the only thing I would do for next time, request one away from the street … although my children slept through it all! "

"We love Merritt House! Lovely front desk employees welcome you, and the property is so compact and beautifully landscaped. Once we found our room, we were delighted by the decor, and especially the very updated carpet and shower. The bed was sooo comfortable and we slept wonderfully. It was a relaxing New Years Eve and we loved every minute of our trip. Also, it's so handy that it's close to many fabulous restaurants that are in walking distance. Thank you, Merritt House!"
