"The service needs improvement. We may be unlucky been served by a by a new employee ( I hope it was just a new employee or an untrained one). I ordered a drink a the bar and I actually explained to the lady how to do it - it was just an Apperoll spritz- nothing fancy). On the dinner , after we ordered, after 15 minutes, she came back asking us if we want to order something. The next morning, she forgot to bring me the breakfast ( after 30 minutes of waiting I informed another colleague and...

"this is our 4th stay at Rothay and it remains one of our favourites in the lakes. in winter it’s great to cosy up after a long walk in the garden spa, and the rooms and ambience is really comfortable without any pretentious swagger for which some of the other hotels in the area would charge you £100 per night more. breakfast is good quality and staff are friendly and efficient "

"The bedroom had no lighting above the mirror to dry and style your hair . It Might of been just room 20 that suffered from poor lighting . My parents had room 21 and that had a balcony , and seemed to have better lighting "

"We have stayed at Ravenstone Manor previously and have found the service to be excellent. Ravenstone is a very dog friendly hotel (so be prepared to see dogs even in the dining areas - the meals are excellent). The hotel is always kept clean and tidy and the views are breathtaking. Staff are friendly and the service is second to none. If you have a dog or just a dog lover, I would highly recommend Ravenstone Manor. Walks in the area are plentiful and scenery is amazing."

"I was planning on camping a couple of nights near Keswick, weather not looking good for a late arrival so decided to stay at Derwentwater Hotel... so glad I did! - At check in I was greeted in a really professional manner, in the bar the staff were super friendly! That was my opening night. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic, set me up fuel wise for my planned ascent of Skiddaw (walking past a farm I camped at 47 years ago on my first Scout Camp!!)
