“The staff was friendly and helpful when we arrived. She helped us with a dinner reservation and advised us on some things to do in York. The hotel was an easy walk to the York city wall and the train station. The room was lovely. Do book the delicious breakfast. It is plentiful and will get you ready for a day of exploring!”

“I had an excellent experience. The landlord, Qin, was very enthusiastic and helpful in solving our problems. The property I stayed in was located on the first floor, right next to the reception. The room wasn’t very big but was cozy and warm. It had a bathtub with plenty of hot water available. The Wi-Fi wasn’t lightning-fast, but it was sufficient—I even managed to host a phone meeting one morning. The bed and bedding were exceptionally comfortable and clean. “Located in a quiet corner but within minutes of walk to the station and attractions. May need some little time to locate at first as the location is not really very touristy. The owners of the guesthouse are very enthusiastic and friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is very nice. Excellent experience.”

“Good: The hotel is well located and impressive in its public areas. All the staff are friendly and polite The breakfast is very good Not so good: The room itself was not too impressive. The room was stuffy, safe didn’t work, and the shower was a trickle. Overall location 10 out of 10 so if you are out and about exploring York all day and arriving/departing by train it would be good choice. If you want to relax in your room then I would recommend a different room category or another hotel. ”

“Lovely hotel with quirky decor. A real gem and within easy walking distance of the station and city centre. Great that the staff will pick up your luggage from the station on arrival and it was in our room when we arrived. Afternoon tea was wonderful and we loved the pantry and record player in our room. A great place to stay. ”
