"The house is beautifully furnished, very comfortable and warm. It was a great space for the six of us plus one dog. Unfortunately, the weather was awful (Storm Bert) which meant we hardly got out at all. Nevertheless, we had a great time, sharing company and food, cooking and eating in the fabulous kitchen dining space, where we spent the majority of our time and playing games. The farmhouse is an ideal venue and very well equipped for a group get together."

"While the purpose of my visit was not the happiest, this little barn conversion was the ideal retreat to ease the emotions and stresses of the day. The cottage was beautifully appointed, the bed was super comfy and the sunrises were gorgeous. The host was attentive but not invasive. I hope I can return for another dose of peace sometime."

"We had an absolutely fantastic stay at King Arthur’s Rest! This charming 4-bedroom house was the perfect home base for our family’s southwest adventures. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The house is spacious, cozy, and beautifully furnished, with plenty of room for everyone, including the kids. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the en-suite in the master bedroom was a real luxury. The host David was great, checked in on us during our stay and made sure we had everything we needed. He's a professional chef and made recommendations of where to eat and grab a drink - he had great taste! The garden was a highlight for us. The kids loved running around and exploring while we relaxed in the hot tub. The BBQ was perfect for family dinners in the evening, and the two living rooms meant we could all spread out and unwind after a day of exploring. The location couldn’t be better. We loved being just a short walk from Cadbury Castle Hillfort—an amazing place to take in the views and let the kid's imaginations run wild with tales of King Arthur. There’s so much to do in the area. We took the kids to the Haynes Motor Museum, which was a big hit, and spent a day at The Newt, where we enjoyed the beautiful gardens and tasted some incredible apple cider. Everything is within a short drive, making it easy to plan activities for all ages. Overall, one of the best family holidays we've had, and when we come back (which we will!) we'll stay here again for sure!"

"What an amazing getaway. If there is a better place to unwind in the English countryside I don’t know it and have never heard about it. The Old Rectory is in the perfect location and next door to a 13th century church. The house is amazing with plenty of room to spread about. Multiple living areas which was ideal as we had three generations of family with us. The kitchen is gourmet and grand and everyone can hang out with the chef while he cooks! Bedrooms are large and very private. Bathrooms aplenty. The media room was the gathering place every evening for movies. Other rooms were used for puzzles and backgammon. If I had one complaint it would be that the view was so amazing that you hardly wanted to leave the house. As for location we were close to local pubs (red lion and queens arms are a must). Great food and galleries in Bruton. Wells is not to be missed. And the Newt for a long lunch and fabulous gardens. We are already planning our return. Thanks for a fabulous family getaway!"
