"This motel was basically OK, but could really do with some refurbishing. The heaters were loud and inefficient, we could hear dripping from water pipes above us, one of the locks was missing on the door, and furniture was becoming shabby."

"This motel is on the main road (US-60 or Ash Street) but was quiet during the holiday period. It is ideally situated near Hill Street, which goes into the historic district less than a mile away. Fast food is nearby, as is hiking at Round Mountain Park. El Rey is a self-described "vintage motor court" so looks the part outside. But the interior room was large enough, the bed mostly comfortable, the spacious shower always had hot water, and the wall heater worked well, with the usual humming....

"Very cute place! It looks like it needs a little bit of a facelift but I can't really complain. The room smelled really nice! We saw a groundsman going around cleaning trash and the courtyard. He was very nice! We will definitely come back"

"Great location and home. The hosts were very responsive to any questions or needs we had. The only issue was when the pool repair guy showed up unannounced while a group of 16-year-old female athletes were getting ready for a soccer game. There appeared to be a miscommunication with the hosts on whether the house was occupied or not. "

"This house was perfect for what we needed visiting with Family. Our stay was eight days and we could’ve stayed longer.It was great to have people come over to us instead of us trying to get to them.
