Quick trip to the North Shore. This cabin was lovely and gave us plenty of space for 5 adults (two couples). Location was great for the places we were visiting.
My daughter's family of five and I stayed at this propoerty for three nights. We love the North Shore and needed a place that could sleep seven. This house worked out perfectly for us - great location, and everything we needed.
The cabin was beautiful and was a perfect getaway. The only thing concerning was the amount of flies in the cabin itself. There were piles of dead flies that accumulated over the weekend. Other than that, the property was wonderful!
This home was beautiful. Great amount of space for us to enjoy each others company, but still allow us our own privacy. The home was nicely furnished and very comfortable. The deck and fire pit in the back yard allowed us time to barbecue and eat outdoors. Followed by a lovely campfire and lots of wonderful conversation with my grandchildren. Creating great memories to be cherished.
Home was nice a bit dusty, firewood on site wood have been nice. Blinds or curtains on doors in living room would be preffered. A little bit of tree coverage would be nice.

Nice place to stay with a large group. The pictures are a little deceiving, makes it look larger than it is. But still nice and well kept. The location is right off the highway so there is noise from traffic but not too bad. The fire pit was a nice thought but we tried it and got literally eaten alive by mosquitoes. It is super close to Gooseberry Falls so that was nice but very far to go back and forth from Duluth. Overall a nice place to stay. Didn’t need to contact property manager while we stayed there.
Just the cabin we were looking for and needing for our party of six. Easy to find right off the highway, super close to Gooseberry Falls. The cabin had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable and worry free. Only thing lacking was coffee filters and bright lighting (a few bulbs were burnt out). Thanks North Shore Luxury Cabin!
Location to parks couldn't be better. However, it is right on the highway which I didn't realize before booking it. It's a bit busy.
Kitchen is stocked with a bunch of stuff! They had it all.
Main complaints:
Check out procedure was a lot, what's the cleaning fee for??
Heat/AC was super weird. We had to contact the owner to change it on his phone. Also, there's headed floors in the bathrooms but we couldn't get them to consistently work.
The lights were odd, most weren't bright enough or had gone out but then the hanging lights in the kitchen gave us headaches cause it was too bright.
Don't bother with this rental - not only could I not get ahold of the "local contact" to get a later check out or complain about the Cleanliness or the fact the the glass doors to the place DO NOT LOCK! the Cleanliness of the property 0/10. ZERO mattress covers other than on the king bed, no pillow covers. Place was dirty not just cob webs, dust, dead flies, and spiders but crumbs of food everywhere, and the appliances looked like they were cleaned with a greasy old rag. Jacuzzi tub was dirty upon arrival. No extra toiletries or towels. Definitely didn't realize this was right off the highway so it was noisy at times due to traffic.
The bunk room is right next to the furnace and it is extremely loud so not a very peaceful sleep. The second bedroom should say DOUBLE bed not queen. Needless to say I will not be booking again and will be looking to get some sort of refund.

This cabin was perfect for our stay, close to Gooseberry Falls and not too far from restaurants and Two Harbors.
The cabin was well equipped with everything you need for cooking. Spacious, and comfortable.
Beds were comfortable, with that said, the smaller bedroom with the bunk beds leave much to be desired. The beds themselves were very thin mattresses, with no mattress pad, ONLY a this polyester bed cover. When we arrived only two of the beds were made. The smaller room with the bunks beds had the sheets, pillow cases and blankets folded at the foot of the beds. I don't really think I would have to make beds when paying for this cabin. This bunk bed room is closest to the furnace so it's rather loud.
Upon arriving the cleaning was sufficient enough. The front of the fridge looked like a smeared mess. Looked greasy. Dishwasher was full of clean dishes and pans.
Internet was a bit spotty, TV going in and out. Heated floors were great, we DID have to turn the circuit breaker on to be able to use them.
The bedroom door leading outside does not lock, called multiple times to get it to work but to no avail. This should DEFINITELY be looked into.
Communication was very good.
Property is ideal for adults with children. Rugged house, sepration of bedrooms. Large yard, nice firepit. Kitchen well equipped as well. Very comfortable for us with daughter and family.
Only complaint would be the mosquitos!
The colors were at their peak. Just breath taking. It’s was busy on the North Shore on Saturday with hustle and bustle people coming and going. When Sunday came around it became very desolate. Perfect! The house is a great location and was comfortable. I would stay here again.
Beautiful and cozy cabin with a great location to sites/ parks (right off the highway). I would definitely stay here again. A few items in the kitchen could be replaced as they are no longer functioning (can opener, Crock pot). Otherwise a very well stocked kitchen for cooking/ prepping meals. The water will get cold after a few back-to-back showers, so just plan accordingly. Could use a few extra towels and a washcloth in the kitchen. Overall a good experience and would recommend to other families young and old.

Outside door lock to the master bedroom patio door is broken and not working.
The outside door lock on the patio door in the master bedroom was broken. We were not able to lock the door. Very unsettling to sleep next to an outside door that does not lock. We felt unsafe and vulnerable. Shame on the ownership and management for allowing that situation and for putting my family at risk!
This property should not be a rental! We arrived in the evening and one of the front doors was ajar and we could not lock it. The house is in need of a deep clean and there is a major RODENT issue! House has visible traps throughout! I called first thing the next morning and left a message with all of our concerns. I had to call back 7 hours later since there was no call back. Someone did come to fix the door and window screens, which I then learned the maintenance man was also the one that did the cleaning; he offered to Swiffer the kitchen floor. All other cleaning issues were met with excuses. I was told being up north, mice are normal.
-SAW FIRST MOUSE NIGHT ONE; husband captured. AND SECOND MOUSE NIGHT TWO!!
-Front glass doors were covered in fingerprints and paw prints.
-Thick dust on shelves and lamps
-Kitchen floor was filthy
-All appliances were covered in fingerprints and stove top was greasy and oven was dirty
-Outside grill was caked with old cooked on food
-No mattress protectors on beds
The list could go on….
Even without the cleaning issues, the mice issue is inexcusable and needs to be resolved. I did all the right steps in trying to resolve the issues, but it was ignored. Contacted the management company and after many phone calls and emails, they credited the cleaning fee. VRBO gave me the run around for weeks and ultimately said they couldn’t credit anything because it was at the management company’s discretion and it was now over 30 days after the fact (if I wouldn’t have gotten the run around for weeks, it wouldn’t have been over 30 days). We have stayed at many VRBO’s and have always been very pleased, but this one makes me question staying at one ever again.
This delightful cabin is not only spacious and well-appointed; its location could not be better for the purpose of exploring the North Shore. Super-close to Gooseberry Falls State Park; and a short drive to the Split Rock Lighthouse, Tettegouche State Park, Silver Bay, Two Harbors, and about half-way between Duluth and Grand Marais. Lots of great restaurants in the area - you won't go hungry! We would rent this cabin again and possibly bring family or friends to join us. Looking forward to the next time!

Good Location, Subpar Accommodations
While we enjoyed this cabin’s close proximity to Gooseberry Falls and so many other places on the north shore, the lack of communication from Evolve and the local guest contact, uncleanliness of the cabin, and mouse infestation are reasons we will not be staying at this cabin again. The quality of our stay was far less than the cost charged for each night.
Fantastic location, but rental leaves much to be desired
Our issues began with the on-line reservation system. I do not recommend VRBO/EVOLVE at all. I made an error in our dates, and immediately tried every which way to contact them to extend the visit by a day, but they did not respond for almost 2 months (!), and then they wanted to charge an exorbitant fee for the extra day. Needless to say, we did not accept their "offer". The rental home was an attractive log structure with a fire ring in back. It is half a mile from the Gooseberry Falls State park entrance, but heavy, fast traffic on Hwy 61 made it unsafe to walk so we ended up driving into the park every day. The park itself was beautiful. Inside the building however, is where the real trouble began. Previous reviews mentioned that it wasn't very clean, and after 6 months that is still the case! If management had wanted a better review, they would have vacuumed thoroughly, dusted the furniture, and done some deep cleaning of the ceiling fan among other things. The cleaning fee is very high, and yet the cleaners wanted a tip!?!?!? For what they are charging, management could pay their staff better!
The weather on the North Shore is wonderfully cool and comfortable, yet we could not open the windows to take advantage of the night air because screens were busted and the mosquitoes were worse inside than on the deck or hiking in the park! There is a wetland behind the fire pit, perhaps some floating mosquito pellets would help? The mechanism on the bathroom sink plug is disconnected, so it doesn't drain well. The toilet handle has to be held down for it to flush. The grandkids complained of back pain after sleeping on the bunkbeds, since neither of them weighs over 80 lbs, clearly the mattresses need replacement for better support. The kitchen really needs task lighting and a ventilation fan over the stove. Although the unit easily sleeps 7 there were only 6 chairs for the table. All in all, this unit is incredibly , grossly over-priced!
