"This property is a charming quintessential vintage Hawaiian hotel. The suite we were given was clean and comfortable with a sizable kitchen. "The staff is very friendly, courteous, personable and attentive. The units are always clean and fresh. There is a full kitchen and washer/dryer in the room. Complementary coffee served in the lobby every morning along side a purified water dispenser. Amazing ocean view and swimming pool to view sunsets from. Did I mention how GREAT the staff is?! "I was amazed by the completeness of kitchen utensils in the unit and the kind arrangement of late checking in. I was worried about where to eat while checking in late and it ends up with the full kitchen availability so that we could simply cook by ourselves rather than finding a restaurant in the dark. I arrived at about 7:30pm on the day and the office was already closed but the staff arranged accordingly for my access and it's really convenient. Thanks to the staff as well."

"the overall condition of the unit is in need of a deep cleaning. black mold all around the sides and rim of the small bath shower door and it leaks. several broken tiles throughout the rooms. main bath shower handle fell off in my hand when trying to turn shower head on from tub faucet. main bath sink's cold water handle just about the come off it pipe. ac programed to stay at 70 degrees which is ok if the humidity is not too bad outside but needed it cooler at times. kitchen could use a...

"Clean and amazing place to stay. Walk to the shops and dining in Wailea or no Kihei Town. Tons of accessibility. Facility is beautifully maintained and quiet. Pool isn’t a kid spot but we spent most of our time at the beach. Multiple beach access points within 1/4 mile. Will try and stay here again!"

Also a short walk takes you to a large parking lot with a huge variety of AMAZING food trucks to choose from. It’s a very convenient location. "

Food trucks within walking distance open from 5 to 8p.m. Communication with the hotel staff was amazing...they responded to our needs in a timely manner. We would stay there again. "We booked two condos for a family vacation. Both were clean with great views and air conditioning.…one was updated furnishings and tile throughout…one was outdated furniture and carpet..they are individually owned so you don’t know what you’ll get. Views were spectacular. Location was amazing…food trucks 5 minute walk and other stores as well. Definitely stay again. "

"The Honua Kai was like being home away from home. Everything was clean, comfortable and had most everything we would need. It was also conveniently located near food options and a grocery store. The beach was beautiful. We also appreciated the free parking. It was perfect for my family and I. It was the best place we've stayed at in Maui and we will most definitely return. The only complaint I have is that it was almost impossible to get a chair by the pool. There were always more towels on the chairs than there were people at the pool. That was quite frustrating as I never had a place to sit and would need to leave my items off to the side somewhere as I enjoyed the pool with my daughters."
