Find a newly remodeled space to call home on your next Oregon Coast escape at this oceanfront Waldport cottage, where you'll be treated to spectacular ocean views from the hot tub and on deck! Enjoy a pristine living space and large windows that frame the ocean, and walk right down to beautiful Big Stump Beach to explore tidepools, fly kites, and take leisurely strolls along nearly six miles of sandy beach.

This thoughtfully renovated oceanfront property is one of the Cape Cod Cottages, a charming community of rustic retreats just south of Waldport. When you're not boogie boarding or collecting seashells, hop in the car for a scenic drive to Yachats (six miles south), majestic Cape Perpetua, and Thor's Well (eight miles south).

Things to Know
Netflix and Hulu Plus streaming are available with personal login credentials.
The only bathroom is accessible through one of the bedrooms.
Check-in time: 4:00 PM.
Check-out time: 10:00 AM.
All guests shall abide by Vacasa’s good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 1 vehicle.



Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Lass to the Beach
The Waldport to Yachats stretch of the Oregon Coast is our go-to spot nearly every summer. Now that we have our yellow lab, Lass, with us, our choices are fewer but our motivation greater. Lass loves the beach. And this property, the smallest of the Cape Cod Cottages just south of Waldport, was the perfect location. Direct access to the beach, beach views from the living room and bedroom, deck across the front of these with a hot tub! The unit number was a corroded “2” the same color as the shake siding and not easy to see from the car. One set of directions said to input the ten-digit code into the lock box. The other set of directions said to input that code into the keyless entry. The Keyless entry worked, but only after a couple of frustrating tries, thinking we had messed up such a long code. The units provide NO coffee filters, the first in our ten-year experience with VRBO. How to we know ahead of time: flat bottom, cone, pod? And the unit had no vacuum! With a dog! at the beach! Really? Our unit, unlike the larger ones, had no dishwasher, which we knew going in, yet we were asked to start the dishwasher when we left! These frustrations aside, we had a great and relaxing stay in between beach romps several times a day.

Annual visit to Waldport
Great location, quiet place, fabulous ocean view, hot tub on deck overlooking Pacific ocean. Stunning. Laundry and game & rec room available on site, but ask management how to access as wasn't obvious, because you need code for door lock. Only thing lacking are places to hang towels and clothing, swimsuits, etc. Because it allows pets, you might find pet hair on furniture. But, that is minor compared to the positives it offers.

Lovely!
What a great place to spend a few magical days on the pacific coast. This is a well maintained house and property. The hot tub overlooking the beach was amazing! The bed was super comfortable and everything was clean. We used the gas fireplace to warm up and there are two large TVs. The location is wonderful--just a few steps down to the beach. We stood on the deck and watched sea lions feeding as they swam north every day that we were there. There is a nice communal game room with ping pong that the kids loved, and the washers and dryers worked great. This rental is a fabulous place to explore the OR coast from!

The room was exceptionally clean. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. The fireplace didn’t work, which was one of the big reasons why I chose this particular place, as well as the hot tub. Only a few jets worked in the hot tub. I was never able to get the lock on the front door to work. I had to call and use the key in lock box. It too was difficult to use in that lock. The roof vent, which I believe is right above the stairs is super noisy at times. Not sure if it was the wind or what it was. I’ve never a noisy roof vent, but it was loud. I would stay here again if the fireplace, jets in hot tub and roof vent were fixed.

Great location and views. Could be a bit cleaner The couch needed a vacuum lots is sand on it and the counter tops needed a wipe down before we could unpack. The kitchen could use some glassware Our dogs loved the deck. We would go back to the cottages again maybe try another unit

It was a nice open design that was well appointed. We loved hearing the surf, and the beach was only a few steps away. The hot tube was a nice addition since our last stay. And we appreciated that it was pet friendly.

Nice spot but too pricey for what you get.
This is a nice property with a great deck and a great view, but for the price, there were too many annoying things that were skimped on. The couch had some gross stains on it. The Wi-Fi was terrible. The water pressure was lousy. At the price we paid, I’d expect that little things like this could be corrected or mitigated,

Comfortable and easy access to the beach. Signs for parking need to be posted for each unit. The cell phone reception is sporadic - some dropped calls and a slower internet at times but liveable.

Bring a book
This was a great property. Clean and with well stocked kitchen. Thanks for having a kettle for tea. So nice to have no beach kitsch. Great beach access. But, no good on the wifi. The first night I was there I was not able to connect. I called Vacasa and was told that the property manager would call me back but never received a call. Luckily the wifi was good the next evening but be prepared. Don't count on being able to work. Enjoy a book or some other non-wifi project.

Our 2022 Oregon Vacation
We had a wonderful time at Cape Cod Cottages. Having the beach so close that we could walk out the door and be there was the biggest reason why we chose to stay. Our cottage was just right for us. And we could have our dog. The negatives were that the lockbox was very difficult to open and we couldn't get it closed when we left. Also, the only place I could find to hang clothes was upstairs in that odd little room. The bedroom is beautiful and large enough for some kind of closet. We were impressed with how new and nice our cottage was though and will definitely return.

Cleanliness-surface cleaning & kitchen was great (the hood vent fan covers need a deep clean - they kept dropping drips of 'stuff' while we were using the stove top). Needs attention to cobwebs and dust on fan, hinges, sills, etc Check-In - great through using the app Accuracy of online listing - needs to CLEARLY state (perhaps in several places so that one skimming the listing will see it) the laundry & game room are SHARED with others at the property. Upstairs room was useless for TV entertainment - not set up with cable or smart TV. Site states there is a DVD player in the home, however there was none. Kitchen amenities are VERY SLIM. Not even individual salt and pepper shakers. Site needs to let the clients know they need to bring what ever they will need (including TP) if they are staying longer than 24-48 hrs. Communication with property management -was mostly great - was on hold twice for over 10 min trying to get help with fireplace and toilet paper but gave up and tried texting. That worked for TP (we had to provide our own as they provide amenities for the first 24-28 hrs of the stay-not sure I would agree that TP is an amenity - but that's a debate for another time), but never got the gas fireplace going. App stated there were instructions on the back of the remote - only instructions were how to engage the child lock. Location/neighborhood-very nice access to the beach and the house was nice - only downer was how thin the walls are - can hear just about everything going on with the neighbors. Overall our stay was nice! We had a great time as a family enjoying the beach and each other. We brought lots of games and enjoyed many bouts of laughter. We experienced both blue skies and stormy weather - Beautiful coast! Will we stay here again? Probably not. Will I read the descriptions of properties in the future more thoroughly? YES! That's my responsibility for sure!

My partner and I checked in around 5pm and as soon as we opened the front door we could see views of the ocean through the back window. It was breathtaking! The property was clean and only steps from the sand. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We are already planning another trip back.

Great beach unit!
Cons: cold floors (wish I had my slippers), thin walls (can hear neighbors), no condiments (like salt/pepper, oil, etc.), couldn't figure out fireplace Pros: Great beach access, amazing view, nice updated finishings, cozy We LOVED this place and would stay here again and again! There were only a few cons, nothing that couldn't be addressed and/or planned for the next time. Such a great view, easy to the beach and the cottage is nicely done!

The space was clean, bright, and spacious. Kitchen had everything we needed, the patio overlooking the ocean was gorgeous, and the bed was comfortable. Check in and out were easy too. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful location, but…
We loved this location and enjoyed walking the beach every day. It was clean but missing some simple things that would have made it so much better. The remote for the fireplace didn’t work, there are no hooks or bars to hang bath towels, no knobs to open bathroom drawers and the listing showed pictures of a laundry and game room but they were not available.

Everything was absolutely outstanding howeve there is a but
Everything was great and I would normally give it five stars however the deck chairs there was one adult chair and one cheap child’s chair when I asked the staff if they could change that he said that there was nothing they could do What a shame beautiful deck with one chair for two adults . Really what they charged would’ve been worth it but the devil is in the details. This was my second trip to the same property, I will have to think long and hard if I wanna go back there. I had reservations for September I canceled.

We wanted to love this place but…
We stayed at Cottage 2. We loved the place, especially with the location being so close to the beach. However there are a few things that we cannot overlook, especially the cleanliness of the place. It was clearly done in haste as dishes looked like they weren’t cleaned, the kettle even had water in it, hairs al over the couch and a super dusty vent in the bedroom. Also there was no place to hang your towels in the bathroom which is super inconvenient. The mirror is so opaque you can’t see a thing. The walls in the bathroom and bedroom are so thin my 5 y/o asked if the people next door were ok because of the loud moans we could hear. It’s a good thing we brought our own cleaning supplies so we could feel safe, but there was nothing we could do about the lack of towel rack/peg or the paper thin walls.
