Disclosure: We did not pay for Diamond, which may have changed things. We stayed in a Luxury Presidential One Bedroom Suite.
Pros: Spacious room. Service around pools consistent all week. Food was ok, some places were good. Concierge is assigned to text if you need anything, ours did assist when needed. Beach is beautiful and long enough to walk every day, which we did.
Cons: Poorly managed report. Customer relations desk people were on their phones all week and rarely even notice if you walk by. Needed bedding for second bed and it took three calls to the front desk, contacting the concierge, and waiting two hours before they came. One of the fridges in the room wasn’t working. Doors to cabinets in room were broken. Asked for shampoo and body wash (repeatedly) because they gave us half full bottles and we had two showers, never came. Based on feedback from the rest of our group our room was better than most. Dirty towels and food left in hallway by other guests sat there for a day without being picked up. There are flys and mosquitos in most of the restaurants. We had a hard time eating at the Italian place because bugs made it unbearable. The resort’s issues have to be a management issue because employees are inefficient, on their phones, and maintenance and service were subpar.
Recap: Has potential, decent trip, but frustrating. We will not use Royalton again at any destination but the area is pretty enough to visit again with a different resort.
