Like many hotels along the coast, Coho shows some signs of wear. But our room was comfortable and tastefully decorated in a minimalist style. Hey, they won me over with the French press coffee maker in our room. (relieved it wasn’t one of those Keurig machines ).
The hotel appeared to have been recently painted inside and out. There’s are pleasant seating areas in gas fire-pits along on the cliff edge for Coho guests. Ground floor rooms have a small patio seating area outside a sliding door, but the upper rooms do not, though they do have large windows that slide open. If you like an open window all night, an upper floor room might feel safer as the screen doors on the ground level rooms do not lock. The complementary breakfast was better than some others, with many hot and cold options The cook kindly went out of her way to make eggs for us, even though we arrived in the dining area a minute past 10 AM, when breakfast service was supposed to have ended.
It was my first time staying at Coho. No big wow factor, and our room was not spacious. Just a bed, couch and coffee table. The only real problem for me was the light by the bathroom mirror was too dim for putting in contacts or applying makeup, so I used a small wall mirror near the sliding exterior door and relied on daylight. I liked having a kettle for boiling water for our evening tea and morning French press coffee. Coho felt safe and clean, and we had a good sleep. I would consider staying there again.
