“We really enjoyed our stay at the property. The place was lovely and quiet, clean and a good location. Most of the staff at the front desk were very friendly, a couple of them were a little grumpy, and not very helpful. Overall though, a great place to stay. ”

“Hale Kai is a little piece of heaven with a "lot of personality", to borrow my hubby’s description. It’s rustic (meaning no air conditioning, a few critters, the seaside location magnifies some house wear/tear), but at the same time filled with home comforts, unique artwork, and lots of aloha. It’s away from crowds but it is at the end of the road where locals in the community go to fish off of the rocks. It’s on volcanic rock giving renters a unique place to explore.

“Stayed with two families, with 5 children under 10. House entrance is gorgeous with all kinds of interesting plants and water features to explore with littles. The main area is breathtaking and while it took some time to acclimate to no AC it was worth it. The layout of the property was a little unclear (main house has master bedroom upstairs , then a separate whole unit above garage, and another unit with 2 bedrooms on ground level and even with large fans it stayed pretty hot all night.……

“Chose this house because of location. Our first time on the big island so wanted to visit both Hilo and Kona side. Location allowed for good options each day as it was less than 2 hours from Hilo, and only an hour away from Hilo . House is great and host is super responsive. You can tell how much this house is cared for.
The home is somehow cozy and spacious at the same time. Very charming decor and has a ton of stuff for family nights. Our family has 2 adult children, one teenager, and two 12……

“This was an excellent place to stay on big island and I highly recommend it. The apartment itself has everything you could want for your stay and communication with the management company was seamless and their responses were prompt to any questions we had. also, the location was great since you could have access to the roads that go north, south or east relatively easily to get around the island.”

“This home was perfect!! Has a huge open floor plan to enjoy each others company and the lanai was amazing and has lots of seating space to enjoy the views of the beautiful sunsets and ocean views. Janie was very sweet and alway communicated if we needed anything and check in was great. The front yard was awesome for hanging out at the pool. The kitchen has all the supplies u need for cooking and the beds were comfortable.
Close to the airport and not to far from Costco to shop for……

“We arrived in the evening after a 13 hr flight, so we dropped straight to sleep in the very comfortable beds. Opened our eyes the next morning and all my husband and I could say was Wow..! The view is amazing - ocean as far as the eyes can see, waves crashing on the rocks, a sound that I never tire of hearing. Got the teens out of bed and made them go check out the view - it did not disappoint!
