“Not what I was expecting for downtown Charleston, but it didn't have a great rating to begin with so I shouldn't have been surprised. The furniture was worn and stained. The coffee area could only serve one person at a time, comfortably. The Staff was very nice but not very well schooled on customer service. “I really really liked the wine & cheese hour and the hot chocolate and cookie service at night. Breakfast was just okay. I would have liked more hot food options. I would have liked to check out the hot tub, but it was pretty cold at night, and the water seemed just lukewarm. I was really put off by two things: #1. At check-in, the desk person was kind of rude or maybe just indifferent. She didn’t seem to want to be there or care that I was there. Later, I asked the same person for another……

“The TV in our room never worked properly. I told the front desk the first day and asked again. No one ever came to check the TV. It was out of focus. Also, the site advertised free breakfast and a pool; there was no breakfast at all… not even coffee in lobby and the pool was drained. The staff did not offer alternatives to breakfast even though there was a place attached to one part of the hotel. I thought it was closed. My room was clean but the stairs and outside was not swept and sloppy.……
