“The home is a decent distance off the highway but the scenery you'll see while driving to it are gorgeous. On the first day, we saw 3 deer and 2 rabbits! The driveway is very steep and made of gravel, so keep that in mind when choosing what vehicle to bring. If it has been raining, your tires may slip a bit going up. Upon arrival, the views are stunning and my dog had a blast running around the open yard. There was a cat lounging on the deck (Not sure if it belongs to the home or a neighbor,……

“Nice quiet neighbor w/plenty of outdoor yard for little ones to run & play. The weather was bitter cold so most of our stay was spent indoors preparing Thanksgiving meal, playing games, enjoying gootball games on TV”

“Pictures don't do this place justice. Super well taken care of home in the middle of gods country. If you need a place to escape this is it. The home has any extras you might be missing. They have thought of everything. The house and beds are very comfortable. I wish every place I stayed was this nice. “Our family of 6 enjoyed our stay at Sweet Retreat. While it was cold and snowy outside we were able to relax in a spacious home and also partake of the hot tub. Large fenced backyard was great for the pup while in the summer it would combine great with the pool and outdoor amenities!”

“The listing states "step back in time" and that certainly sets the tone. If you are looking for a place to stay where peace and nature are the main features, look no further. Nice accommodations, plenty of heat sources to help you stay warm, kitchen is fairly well stocked with pots, pans, spices, oils to help make meals with. I personally loved the that there was a new kitchen sponge waiting for me (it's the little things). Back porch is covered with a tin roof. We sat out there for over an hour……

“We loved staying at this cozy home in Galax. Communication was quick and consistent from the start. The house and property was immaculate. The home was just as described but even better in person. Amazing views from every part of the home. The wrap around porch was the perfect way to start our morning with coffee and a sunrise and end with a sunset. The hot tub was an added bonus! We can’t wait to stay here again. ”

“Extremely clean, plenty of dishes . Bring your Own Roku box if you chose to watch television. TV’s are there but service was taken out due to Hurricane Helene. Not all windows have blinds. But bathrooms & bedrooms do have them. Owner most kind. Cornhole on site to play outdoor games. Perfect for families and those traveling with a pet. Owner provided toilet paper, paper towels, and map of area. She can also provide a copious list of area restaurants to dine at. Fireplace lovely. Gas……
