"This is now my favorite spot to stay when visiting Monterey. The morning staff was wonderful I didn’t get the lady’s name that helped us Saturday morning but she was wonderful. My only complain is the afternoon and evening staff (2 females front desk) were not so nice or helpful they shouldn’t work the front desk if they don’t want to be there… but I would definitely recommend staying here you definitely won’t be disappointed💕"

The staff were warm, welcoming, and went out of their way to make our stay special — truly some of the best service we’ve experienced. The on-site restaurants were phenomenal. Every meal was a treat, with fresh, beautifully prepared dishes and great wine pairings. We ended up eating at the hotel more than we expected simply because the food was that good. And the views? Absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the ocean just outside our window was pure magic. The entire property feels peaceful, luxurious, and romantic — the perfect escape for a couple needing a night away. We can’t wait to come back. Highly, highly recommend!"

"Hands-down, this is one of the most lovely experiences we have ever had at a hotel. It is historic and quaint, and the attention to detail is unparalleled. The breakfast is literally the best we have ever had anywhere in the world and that is not an exaggeration! Walking distance to town, but if you don’t feel like walking, there is free cab service included with the hotel love love love LaPlaya will definitely return if we can. "
