「My husband and I only stayed one night here — we wish we could have stayed longer! Our comfortable room had a large terrace overlooking the Douro River, there is a nice swimming pool on the property and the views are beautiful! The included breakfast was delicious and substantial, and the dinner we had there was quite good. This is a family-owned place and the owner’s son Paolo, who is the manager, was very welcoming and kind. We would return! 」

「The rooms are lovely with great views of the Douro. We did the tour of the cellars and tasting with the wonderful Patricia.It would have been nice to have comfy chairs by the windows n the room for the price paid tho. The restaurant is overpriced and was a big disappointment for the price paid. If you order starters, main, dessert and wine, expect to pay close to €200 a couple which is ridiculous. 「Three of us stayed Tabuaco for the vineyard visit. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained; the only main issue is that there's no elevator, so we had to draw our luggage for a couple stairs to reach the lobby and then three floors to the room. I was hoping that the room would be a bit bigger as it's a triple room. It's was in a quiet and clean neighborhood and we accidentally found a bar close by, quelha funda bar, which we love so much. 「This place understands what hospitality is. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed as if it was our home. Our bags were taken to our room and we had a welcome drink on the terrace overlooking the spectacular Douro Valley. We joined other guests for a family style meal and enjoyed getting to know people from many different countries. Amazing place to relax, appreciate the area, with a wonderful team to help with questions and make the visit super comfortable.」

「We had a wonderful stay at Morgadio do Calcada. It has been the highlight of our trip to Portugal - and there were already so many impressive moments! The property is a manor house at the edge of Provesendes run by the 18th generation of the household. The lodge is in a newly renovated part across the courtyard from the main house, surrounded by vineyards and a citrus grove. The rooms are modern with a very spacious bathroom.
