「Property was very clean and quiet. Owners were great.」

「So much to see and do up here. Winery, high quality coffee shops and restaurants are all within 15 mins. Not to mention a huge time savings driving to Haleakala and Hana. Many farms to tour from tequila to chocolate to honey and friendly people everywhere. Speaking of which, our host Lori left us wanting for nothing with laundry service and the best pantry we’ve seen hands down. 「Steve and Diane are the perfect hosts! Very responsive. Kula was an excellent choice for us. The nights are cool, the days moderate, the area lusher than down by Kihei. Good access to Haleakala and the adventure of driving over to Hana. All in all the perfect spot! 」

「Great location with a very comfortable vibe. We felt relaxed and welcome immediately. Loved being able to meet and chat with Steve & Diane. The bed was especially comfortable and wonderful being able to sleep with the doors open (strong storm prevented us from being able to sleep in the bubble) but didn’t feel like we missed out on an experience as it was still such a quiet, calm, and special place.」

「I cannot say enough great things about this little gem. If you’re looking for a special place to celebrate anything - off the beaten path - but easy access to most of the best of Maui, look no further. Shannon and Josh have made this place truly magical. I cannot wait to return! 」

「Exceeded our expectations! From the easy check-in to the incredible breakfasts, the old-school pool and hanging garden, and an unexpected herd of deer running through the property, this was one of the most relaxing and tranquil escapes we’ve experienced. The town of Makawao gave us tasty afternoon meals (Satori!) and the beautiful mountain area provided plenty of scenic driving. Only advice I’d give is to plan to enjoy the space while you’re staying, as it would be a shame to not settle in....

「We stayed 3 nights. This was the first time to stay upcountry and we were pleasantly surprised by the contrast of the slower pace from the beach areas. Greeted with a smile by Josh as we came to the entry door and he explained about check in. The house is newly renovated, welcoming and very clean all over. The suite is huge, comfortable and private. Shower has plenty of hot water and pressure. We had lovely and tasty breakfast with some items changed every day. Josh will make Latte on request....

Great facilities with an average room and service

"The pros are the hotel has great facilities for families, they have some really good slides for the kids, an arcade room, a Starbucks nearby and also car rental. There are two restaurants onsite and a few others within proximity. I also like the lobby area where they have a couple of tree swings, chess and some activities for the kids. That said, in terms of value, the room does not justify it. The bed was creaking, toilet is really small (you can’t even open the the door fully without swiping the mat on the floor), hot water not working well for the 2 nights we stayed in, temperature of the room can’t go below 20.5. And when the engineer attended the property, he couldn’t help with the issue and didn’t take off his shoes when he came in. Housekeeping did a good job in tidying up the room, unfortunately they only picked up the phone once out of the 4 times we called. All in all, for I felt the rooms definitely need a freshen up to charge the price. "
