The hotel is nice and the location is good (close to the side entrance of Huis Ten Bosch) and I can see the beautiful tower and the channel out of the window.
However, the hotel should deal with the payment more carefully, especially foreigners.
When I checked in, I bought the 1.5 days ticket. The clerk made a mistake with the money and refund the credit card payment immediately. I wasn't aware of it "until" I get 2 messages from my bank in the night, which caught my attention. Receptionist told me they made a mistake "after" I went to the front-desk (hotel should told me right away when it happened).
Moreover, the hotel should NOT claim this money to the credit card company because a "positive number" (this wrong payment) and a "negative number" (refund) was equal to "zero". Because of this action and the timing difference, the credit card company charged for "international transaction fee" and "extra money" (the exchange rate of payment and refund were different, although they are just within 5 minutes), respectively.
My bank told me it the hotel didn't do it right, that is, claiming these 2 transactions (the wrong payment at the beginning and refund afterward). Bank said that most of the hotels/shops should know the solution when this kind of mistake happened.
I recommend hotel taking serious in this kind of issues in the future.
Otherwise, although my family had a very good time in Huis Ten Bosch, the payment issue will be hard to forget. Thank you very much.
