“We stayed here for a Sunday night on the way home from a weekend away. The staff and locals were friendly, food was great and the room comfortable enough although the floorboards were really creaky in our room (although it is an older building so it is to be expected) We would definitely stay here again, should the opportunity arise”

“I found the Old Oak Tree team to be very welcoming. The room size was fantastic as was the breakfast. The pub does evening meals and has a great choice of dishes to suit all palates. Whilst booking a table is definitely recommended as the venue is very popular both locally and further afield for their dishes. I can highly recommend the Old Oak Tree, I will certainly be staying there again. The Old Oak Tree is in the perfect location for exploring North Yorkshire. ”

“I can't really fault it. The property is nice, staff were really nice, the room was just what we hoped for. We had a lovely evening meal followed by a good nights sleep. Breakfast options were all cooked options, although I'm not a breakfast eater so only had some toast. ”

“This is a relaxed small hotel - a bit like a guest house / hotel with good dining and bar for locals. Sawley is very convenient for Fountains Abbey but isolated - a car is essential. The Spanish chef was very good, as was the room andvthe staff attentive ”

“Great place for us as a place to sleep. We wanted to be near Fountains Abbey. The breakfast was amazing, we didn't eat on an evening so don't know about that. The building needs a little TLC, the door to our veranda was difficult to lock, the stairwell smelt a little fusty and there are no plug sockets near the bed. The bed was comfy though and the room basic but acceptable. Overall, a nice stay.”
