The property is very nice and historic, but it looks, pretty clearly, like since the hotel was originally refurbished, no money or resources have been invested to up keep it.
The chair in my room was old, stained, and looked like it belongs in a college student’s room. The shower curtain was molded, the ice bin in my room was molded, the fan was dusty. Sure, it’s an historic property, but these are basic maintenance items and have nothing to do with historic preservation. All of the front-facing employees I met were all super friendly and happy to help. Management, by appearance, has no interest in upkeep.
