What an amazing experience! Our guide and his dogs were "the real deal"! Took us on a nice walk through the woods, following the dogs who would pick up on the scent. Learned a lot about truffle hunting. Then, a delicious (and very generous) lunch on his family's gorgeous outdoor terrace. Had meats & cheeses, truffle bruchetta, salad, truffle pasta, and dessert--all prepared by our host's mom! A must-do experience in Croatia for any true foodie!

We had a great time on the truffle hunt! The dogs are so cute and sweet and it was fun to see them run around and sniff out truffles. It was also a great way to walk around the Motovun forest and learn more about the truffle industry there. We didn't do the lunch option, but our guide gave us a few of the truffles we found to take home with us. Would definitely recommend!

One of the highlights of my 6 weeks of traveling! Mikhail was an amazing guide and made sure our group all had an awesome experience. A number of not only black truffles were found, but a few white truffles were too. The white ones were not in season but still exciting! It was an adventure following the dogs through the beautiful forest and watching them dig for the truffles. Everyone should experience this once!

We (family of 5, 3 children 13-20) thoroughly enjoyed our truffle picking adventure. Mihail was an excellent guide, explaining well (good English) and answering all our questions. His dogs (Luna, Mina and Roxie) were also extremely friendly. They were also good at their jobs, finding plenty of truffles. The truffle hunting was fun and not at all demanding, we didn't have to walk far and the terrain was easy. Walking shoes are probably best although Mihail has some rubber boots you can borrow if the ground is too wet. There were quite a lot of mosquitos though, so those suscptible should bring their spray. The best was saved for last though. The lunch at Mihail's family home in Motovun was to die for. Absolutely exquisite food, served at a rerlaxed pace, no stress, in the stunning setting of the hilltop terrace of Mihail's family home. Easily the best food we have had in Croatia and a really memorable experience. A couple of things to bear in mind: - The dogs are super-friendly but they move FAST. - Luna is very loving but seeking affection she has a tendency to jump up with her muddy paws, don't wear sensitive clothes! - All-in-all this isn't a great pick if you are easily startled by or at all afraid of dogs. At the end of the day though activities like this are all about the people, they make or break the experience. Mihail was friendly, charming and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed his company.

This experience has two parts. The first Is the truffle hunt in the woods. It’s led enthusiastically by Mihael and his friendly dogs, who sniff out the truffles. Mihael comes prepared for all contingencies, bringing mud boots for guests, as well as rain ponchos and mosquito spray. After a pleasant walk to find truffles, guests are taken to Mihael’s exquisite garden, where his family prepares a tasty lunch, including salad, pasta, and dessert, all with truffles. Not to mention wine and elderflower lemonade.
