Your tour will begin at Porta San Gennaro, the symbolic entrance point of the Rione Sanità. Entering the popular alleys, revealing a treasure at every turn: from the murals dedicated to Totò and Maradona to the Baroque art of the squares and churches, all very scenic and contradictory. You will have the chance to admire two of the main masterpieces of Neapolitan Baroque: Palazzo San Felice and Palazzo dello Spagnolo, 'twin architectures' emblematic of the district's decay and rebirth.
Your tour expert unveils you a symbol of the community, and then the beauty of the churches and the laundry hung out to dry, the colours of the buildings and murals, the typical flavours of Naples. But above all, a storey of rebirth.
Your tour expert will tell you about the struggle of the social cooperative to regenerate the whole neighbourhood. The desire for rebirth is everywhere: from the street art and books for everybody in the alley of culture to the sculpture of the “Veiled Son” in the basilica of San Severo outside the walls, to the fabulous Nativity scene in the basilica of Santa Maria alla Sanità, a symbol of hope and universal integration.
Along the way there will be a stop to taste the typical “fried pizza” as only locals do it and the famous 'fiocco di neve' in one of the most renowned pastry shops in Naples, accompanied by a real Neapolitan coffee.
