Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, dedicated to the god of learning Sugawara no Michizane, is the largest of 12,000 Tenmangu shrines in Japan and a popular destination for visitors from around the world.
In addition to its lacquered main hall, Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine features several historical buildings, including the Tenkai Inari Shrine, the Treasure Hall, and the Kanko Historical Museum.
Legend says Nyoirinji Temple was built by monk Gyoki during the Nara period. It enshrines Nyoirin Kannon, granting the wishes of those who pray, and designated cultural property of Fukuoka Prefecture.

Legend has it that the temple was established by monk Gyoki during the Nara period, and it is designated as a cultural property of Fukuoka Prefecture, reflecting its historical importance. In summer, thousands of wind chimes are hung, creating a charming ambiance and representing wishes for a safe season. The wind chimes in the temple are sold for 500 yen and cannot be taken home. The wind chimes are decorated from June 1 to September 30 of every year.
