"Great location, short walk to several subway lines. Lots of room (and kitchen!) for the price. Quiet street. Only complaint is the radiator in the main room didn't work, and the one in the master bedroom hissed all night long as if it was leaking. But it couldn't be turned off as it was warming the entire apartment. Told the front desk, but was not fixed and was blamed on city steam system. This wouldn't be an issue if you visited in the warmer months."

"Overall a good option for the price. Great location. The address is deceiving because the entrance is not on First Ave., it's on 9th Street. It is a walk up and we stayed on the third floor which wasn't too bad even with my bad knees but I would have had a difficult time if we were on a higher floor. Our room was a corner unit and was cold, it was about 15° outside that night, and the heater was wonky. Communication with management was great. I had to call to get a cot removed from the room...

"This was a good option for 5 adults as we rented the 1 bedroom type rooms. We requested foldout couches in our rooms and only received 1 not 2 as requested. This is a no frills place but it was comfortable for our needs. The Ophelia was a young people date place but we went up one night and really enjoyed the amazing views. The food was really good at Ophelia! Make sure that you have a reservation. "

"The room was super comfortable and well designed for the limited space available - also quiet, so we slept great. The only elevator broke down while we were there, and we had to climb 4 flights of stairs a few times to reach our 5th floor room. (We saw others who had to carry very heavy luggage down the stairs). The surrounding area feels quite safe but is a bit dark and dingy. The hotel no longer offers parking, and the nearby options are sketchy, so we don’t recommend it if you’re driving...
