Valparaiso Beach Hotel

"The most wonderful hotel run by lovely staff members who went out of their way to make me feel at home. Location. Location. You are steps from excellent restaurants, cafes, shopping and more. Prime Valparaiso location. Be prepared to walk up and down hills. Valparaiso is hilly like San Francisco and this hotel is midway up a hill but so is everything In Valparaiso- there’s no avoiding it. Ubers are cheap and readily available. Do not stay down in the port area - it’s unsafe at night and do not stay to far up like the Wine Box is far away from everything. Stay at this hotel or somewhere close to this hotel. This is the best location in Valparaiso. Again the hotel ambiance, patios and staff are top notch for the price. I will definitely be back. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and felt the staff kept an eye out for me. Magical place!"

"What a beautiful place. The rooms are clean and well appointed, the views are just incredible. There's a fantastic restaurant downstairs with views of the coast and harbour. There's so much around the hotel to see within walking distance and the whole area is bursting with character. Our only regret was not staying longer."

"We stayed here two nights. We are Americans used to boring, run-of-the-mill hotels with no character and neutral staff who don’t like the guests. This was a lovely break from our norm. Everyone was super friendly, desirous to make our stay happy and give recommendations. The ceilings were super high in our room overlooking the bay, with a chandelier and lovely paint color. It felt like being in an early 1900’s great house. They have a gardener who comes to create gorgeous flowers and trees over 3 different terraces where you can go sit outside to eat or sip wine at sunset. The area in general is like the rest of Valparaiso with some dirt and grunge, but stepping into this hotel was like a most lovely sanctuary. Highly recommend. They lock the gate getting in and out and recognize you by face so there is no fear of random people coming off the street. This may be normal in South America but we noted it as the whole place felt and seemed very secure. They helped us get a taxi for our trip to the vineyards as well, which was nice. "
