"Staff were welcoming and friendly at all times, from receptionists to cleaners. We use this hotel as a base for visiting granddaughter at the University, it is convenient for that, for shopping in the Westgate Centre and for some beautiful walks along the river."

"Lovely hotel in very central location. Was a bit worried about noise but it was fine in the end during the night. Moved rooms to have a separate bathroom and lovely host gave us a bottle of wine and some earplugs in case of noise. Highly recommend the No.1 Ship Street restaurant nearby!"

"Nice room, friendly staff, very good food morning and evening, ample car parking (which really matters in Oxford, where street parking in the centre is outrageously expensive). Only problem was that I couldn't get the radiator in my room to work. Acceptable now (the heated towel rail did work), but will be a problem in winter. "

"Lovely 2 night stay here. Room was spacious, tea and coffee facilities. Room was over all clean, a couple of areas needed more tlc. Breakfast was buffet style and it was very nice, plenty of choice, from fresh fruit to a full cooked breakfast. Bus stop handy to get in and out of town. Would recommend and would stay again! Staff were very friendly and helpful. "
