Hostels in Uruguay

"The neighborhood is in the process of being revitalized. It seemed to have abandoned buildings around Ciudad Vieja. Most of the developing areas were near the Mercado Puerto which is about 10minute from Circus Hotel. The location of the hotel was within walking distance of the Plaza Independencia. Sofía at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.. I opted for the private room accomodation. It was spacious and clean. The bed was two twin beds put together . Air conditioner worked very well....

"The place is close to amenities and stores and shops and restaurants and transportation and sights but the staff particularly one lady named carol she is very rude and not helpful at all plus I was transferred from one room to another and with out notice they will move you and before you know it you are on another room already "

Sometimes, a great experience can be disrupted by someone that’s not happy making the job, like in this case one of the person of the front desk. That person wasn’t helpful and neither smiling. When you are traveling for leisure you’re looking to relax and having a great time. So having an encounter with someone that is not having it can be a bit not so cool. "The bathroom needs updating, its old and often runs out of hot water! The bedrooms are very basic, no wardrobe or locker. Also, be aware that the hostel is NOT in punta del este, its in la barra. "

"The balcony was not been swiped or cleaned in years. there were cigarette buds out on the balcony and when you looked over to the next floor, there were beer cans and trash. Horrible. The flooring of this place is hideous. The hotel needs to be renovated and cleaned. Never staying here again and will not recommend. I know it is a hostel, but that doesn't mean it should be dirty. blood on my comforter. "
