Showcasing more than 1,000 animals from across the globe, the Tropicarium Park is a hub of adventure and discovery. The complex is divided into three parts: the Aquarium, Predators and the Tropicarium. Learn with your family about some of the world’s most unusual creatures in this fun zoo.
Admire the exotic animals roaming around their exhibits in the Tropicarium. Here, you’ll find sea and land turtles, water dragons and colorful frogs. Glimpse the Gila monster, which is a type of venomous lizard. Notice how some of the animals share an enclosure with other creatures from the same habitat in the wild.
Bring your kids to see the Penguins of Magellan and walk through the Butterfly Garden to marvel at the colorful fluttering wings of these delicate creatures. For a change of scenery, head to the fearsome Predators section. Get a closer look at such prehistoric hunters as the bull shark, the Nile crocodile and the American alligator.
Complete the trio of zones with a trip to the Aquarium. Rare aquatic creatures illuminate the tanks, where you’re likely to find piranhas as well as scorpion fish, identifiable by their poisonous spikes. Inspect the primitive eye of the nautilus mollusk and spot the limuli horseshoe crabs that have existed since the time of the dinosaurs. At the end of the path stands an animal hospital, where the complex’s animals are cured and born.
The attraction opens daily from morning until late evening. Purchase tickets at the door, with cheaper entry for kids and seniors. Toddlers get in for free.
The Tropicarium Park is a 15-minute walk southwest from the main bus terminal of Lido di Jesolo. Take a bus to the northern side of the adjacent Piazza Brescia. While you’re here, visit nearby sights such as the SEA LIFE Aquarium, the Pista Azzurra go-kart track and the Parco Pegaso.
