The river was why I chose this cabin and it did not disappoint, however, there were lots of other things to be disappointed about. The beams in the ceiling were actually splitting and some boards had been hammered over them. The cabin is very noisy. No one could do anything without it being heard throughout making it difficult for sleeping. Rocks were used to close the upstairs doors for the bedroom and bathroom. Rocks! The doors would not stay closed in that area at all. The oven was dirty. What may have been burned on cheese was hanging on the oven rack. The cabinets were crammed with a hodge podge of dishes and pots and pans, however, there was only one skillet and the skillet as well as all of the other pots and pans had the teflon peeling off the bottoms. It was scary to use them thinking I might be feeding my family teflon! The softsoap in the kitchen had been watered down. The soap in the bathrooms for guests to use was cheap round bar soap that did not last more than a couple of showers. Just a few garbage liners were left so we ran out of garbage can liners before the end of our stay.
Only the cheapest of items, of which there were very few, were in the cabin.
There were actually capped off wires in an opening in the wall and a coax cable hanging out of the wall.
The pot holders were dirty looking, and no hand towels for the kitchen.
Deck furniture was raggedy with holes in the cushions. There were piles of dirt and food on the deck where it had not been cleaned.
Huge cobwebs hung from the ceiling where the planks were nailed.
The concrete access, and I use that term loosely, was so busted up it was dangerous. It was dangerous to cross that mess to get to the river.
Fortunately, my reason for booking this cabin was the river which did not disappoint. The view and sound of the river was amazing and I couldn't have been happier with that.
