「Unit was a conveniently located budget property. It was a decent sized 3 bedroom with airconditioners in all the rooms. 」

「Avoid this property at all costs! It was a nightmare, owner couldn’t be contacted for hours (tried to call him and no one picked up the phone) and only after we got a hold of him, he informed us that the place was double booked. We were travelling with 2 young kids and waited nearly 2 hours in front of this property. It was 9 pm and we had to scramble to find a place to stay. The owner offered another location which was in Shinjuku, which is on the opposite of the city. This was a terrible...

「We stayed in this house for a week - 5 people. The host did the homework for us and mailed us a number of pertinent videos, from how to get a Suica card to exactly how to get to his house. The house itself is next to a large sakura, in the middle of a middle-class quiet non-touristic neighborhood, 5 minutes by foot from a seibu line station. From there it is around 25 mins or less by train to the Tokyo, Ueno, Shibuya, Shinjuku or Shinagawa stations; ikebukuro is 5 mins away. The house has...

「Place was clean and a very traditional Japanese house. If you want authentic, this is your place. Only 1 chair and desk, so sitting on the floor all the time is a bit tough. Good location, quiet and quaint. Could use some helpful kitchen items like oil, soy sauce, s&p. Instructions throughout house was great. Great udon mom and pop shop around corner and local museum. Close to subway and quick bus to Asakusa and other areas. 」

「My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. I would recommend it if you are traveling with a large group that wants to stay in separate rooms. Please keep in mind that most of the bedrooms are on the top floor and the stairs may be too steep for older people/young kids.」

「We had a great vacation close to the skytree. Our host communicated well, and let us keep our luggage for a few hours after our stay and before our flight. The place was large and clean. I would definitely stay here again.The only downside is the street noise is loud during the night but that is just being in one of the largest cities in the world. Just keep in mind if you're a light sleeper.」

「The host Keita is very nice and kind! He provided any help we need regarding our stay. We kept communicating with him via Whatsapp and Vrbo, and he answers whenever we have inquiries.The 2 connected rooms we lived in can accommodate a total of 3 people. There are 2 aircon with cooling and heating so the room are warm despite the almost freezing temperature outside. There is also a hanger where we can hang our jackets and towels. The room is quite spacious compared to other hotels in Tokyo....

「Part of my reason for returning to Japan, was to study traditional interior decorating, This house was a good example, as it was built before WW2, Other advantages were the nice neighborhood, plenty of space, laundry, good heating system, friendly owner.」

「Very nice house. Proximity to the JR Shin Koiwa station makes getting anywhere in Tokyo very easy. It’s about a ten minute walk. Host is excellent and communicates well. Very quiet neighborhood. If you can navigate the excellent Tokyo rail and subway system this is an excellent choice for your visit. I would not hesitate to book the Kanae House again. 」

「We enjoyed our stay at the Kamei House! Communication was excellent. We were granted access to the house with a phone app to control the lock which was a handy and easy way to check in. The house was located with easy access to two train stations depending on route. There was plenty of space for our group of six and we had a great time exploring Tokyo from this convenient location!」
