"We needed to walk a distance to find the hotel. However, We like the hotel room’s toilet is separated from the bath. The room is clean and new. Buffet breakfast is nice especially the bread buffet. "Perhaps be more flexible on check in time. It was drizzling n cold. We arrived at 14.10 but were not able to chk in as the staff said the room was not ready. Otherwise everything was perfect n highly recommend"

Good hotel but small room

"The room is clean and comfortable. Location is good. Breakfast is quite good. The only problem is the room a bit small although we only had 2 small overnight bag. The public onsen is also small compare to the other hotel that we stayed while in Japan. Other than that everything else is good."

Nice retreat

"Some really nice amenities (like the private bath up the hillside—don’t forget to slide the window open so you get that hot bath in the forest experience, the lounge with coffee and tea and nice windows). And some really lovely service (thanks Adi!). Nice place to relax after doing the nakasendo way between Magome and Tsumago."

Traditional Japanese stay

"Nagataki was better than a hotel stay. We stayed for one night before walking the Nakasendo. We had our own little Japanese cottage set in a lovely garden. Meals were served in our cottage and were simply amazing. The food presentation was a work of art and absolutely delicious and inventive. The onsen was beautiful and had a gorgeous view out to the garden. The staff were so lovely even though not a great deal of English was spoken. We were picked up and dropped off at Nakatsagawa station. Would definitely return."
