Yes, we did enjoy our stay despite the condition of the apartment, so in our opinion John & Michael do not deserve more bookings until they treat their guests as guests rather than cleaners and have some urgent work done there.
1) The apartment was not cleaned when we arrived.
2) The bedclothes and towels were lying in a heap on the floor, presumably unwashed.
3) The cleaner could not be contacted.
4 ) The key holder advised that we should do the cleaning and washing ourselves. We did !
5 ) After heavy rain on the first night the bedroom window frame leaked, soaking a pile of our clothes underneath.
6) The bathroom window frame also leaked soaking the towels underneath.
7 ) After the rain the window wall in the bedroom had patches of damp both above and below the window and both sides because obviously the wall is porous.
8) Clearly both old window frames need replacing urgently.
9) Whomever maintains the ‘light well’ in the centre of the apartments, which forms the walls of both bedroom and bathroom, needs to waterproof the external walls or better still re-render them with waterproof render.
10 ) The settee / Sofa bed is shedding it’s fake leather fabric, thus covering the floor every day with small white flakes of whatever synthetic the cover is composed of. Therefore one needs to vacuum every day. It needs replacing.
11) Why, when we claimed for the washing and drying of their bedclothes, towels, our clothes, vacuuming and cleaning the apartment and emptying the bucket under the air conditioning unit which catches the perpetual dripping water on the balcony every day for three weeks, do they, without a word of apology grant us a refund of 60€ with the curt note " 3 hours cleaning @ 20€ "
Other than that we had a great time BUT won’t be going back.
