Others have mentioned the lack of screens on the windows. We weren't worried. Mistake! There were swarms of mosquitos everywhere outside. On the day we stayed in, we baked! There is no central a/c and we couldn't open the windows to cool off. If there had been some citronella torches provided or, at least, some insect repellant on hand, we would have been much happier. As it was, we really couldn't use the patios, hot tub, or firepit. We literally had to sprint from our cars to the house (and we still got dozens of itchy bites).
There was a mouse in bedroom #2, but no traps had been laid.
The bathroom next to bedroom #2 had a toilet that ran and bathtub knobs that fell off.
The instructions from the property management company led us astray in a couple of areas.
1) The wifi modem has a different name and password than provided.
2) The car gate was a major hassle. The provided key code didn't work. We had to go in through the walking gate and use the remote. There is only a single remote and the gate doesn't open automatically when you're leaving. With five cars, one remote and only two gate keys (on top of no cell reception (Verizon and Sprint/T-Mobil) to call someone to let you in, getting in and out was always a pain in the a**.
On a minor note, the property had been cleaned before we arrived, but the trash wasn't hauled away! Both garbage cans were full, so for the first two days we had garbage bags pililng up inside.
The house is beautiful, and so are the grounds. It's just a shame we couldn't enjoy them to the fullest.
