"The only reason I didn't give excellent is because the hallway and stairs need work. The room itself was bright and comfortable and clean. I feel this prooerty has gotten an unfair rap. It is an older building and not your IBIS but it is fair value downtown AND the host is the nicest and most helpful we have encountered AND there is an excelkent and full breakfastbreakfast "

"This place is incredibly charming. The morning breakfast is very German, and the staff are very kind and welcoming. I felt like as though i walked into a building that wouldve been modern 500 years ago, and I loved it. The stairs are steep, and not ADA accessible in any way, but I appreciated that aswell. "It's a unique little place in the heart of the Prenzlberg district of Berlin. Just a block from Schönhauser Allee S & U train station and also a block from historic Gethsemane church. "We stayed over the NYE holiday and didn’t expect to find something so affordable. The location was alright in terms of convenience but the area is a bit questionable. Either way, the reception desk staff were very kind and the room itself was very clean and comfortable. Not bad! "

"The front desk was not open at all twice when we went to check in. A third time we went back and they were kind but no one spoke any English. I couldn’t communicate needs (extra towels or glasses). "Horrible experience. I was traveling to Berlin for one night and upon arrival I found the hotel front door closed. Apparently this is normal as there is no staff on hand unless there is a check-in due however this prompted me to give the hotel a call. "Had a wonderful stay at Smartments Prenzlauer Berg. Facility is modern, clean and located adjacent to the Landsberger Allee S-Bahn station - making transportation super convenient. There is a large grocery store within a block. There is a Doner restaurant that is open 24 hours (as of Sept 2024) next to the apartment complex. Room equipped with small refrigerator. Bed low but comfy. No air conditioning but did not need in September. Fan in room - which would definitely need in summer month....

"Great location and very spacious. Upstairs was an odd space, listed as being an additional seating area but only one small sofa for 2. Needs more seating upstairs or a futon/bed settee for additional sleeping options. Kitchen was good but really needs a microwave. "
