Fishing Trip

We love The Rockhouse. Its very beautiful and comfy. Has everythig we need for our stay. We love the Solo Stove and the pond in the back. Its worth the stay.

Cute little country house

My husband and I really enjoyed our weekend here! Did some fishing in the pond, explored near by river beaches, and went to Meremac Spring park. Absolutely beautiful!

Adorable place with everything needed for a peaceful time away.

The country side was just what our hearts needed for restoration! Super short distance to our favorite winery, Peaceful Bend and the amazing duo at Kick n’ K stores floating! Drive into town for groceries was less than 10 minutes.

Fishing trip with friends

We loved this property. It was very cozy and cute. The kids loved the pond and all the area they had to play. The firepit at night was very relaxing. I will diffently be back again. I will recommend this to everyone. Thank you so much.

The Perfect Getaway

This property meets all check boxes; it's close to St James and the river, but also secluded on a beautiful piece of land. The property has a picturesque pond with a stunning house we fell in love with. Spacious, inviting, and absolutely breathtaking, the Rock House provided us with a Home away from Home. We loved the sun room where we enjoyed breakfast in the morning, along with all the other rooms to relax and hang with family. We can't wait to share our experience with friends and family, and plan our next visit.

Perfect Peaceful primo location farmhouse!

My family and I already want to visit again! The home is clean, bright, cozy, and located in the most perfect spot to enjoy Maramec Springs, kayaking, fishing, ice cream eating in Steelville, or relaxing on the comfortable chairs overlooking a big sky, pond, and rolling wooded hillside. During our stay, my husband heard water dripping and discovered a small leak underneath the kitchen sink. Our host was super responsive and immediately came to investigate and resolve the matter. She even offered us a late check out for the inconvenience (though it really wasn’t any inconvenience on our part at all!). Crystal and her husband were very knowledgeable about the area and river, suggesting places we could put in ourselves to kayak. Even if there are other cute places to stay near Maramec Springs, we would prefer this place for sure. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Clean, bright, beautiful home in nature! Great for birders!

An amazing place to stay! Will be my first pick when I return to the area. The home is so serene and peaceful, and not overly decorated like some VRBO’s! The result is a place where one’s mind can relax. A lovely place to read a book, or maybe go there to write one! I enjoy nature photography, especially birds, so I was up with the sunrise to walk around the property, which is nicely mowed. Here are a few of the birds seen around the property.

Amazing View and Beautiful

Second Time Here!

My husband and two teenage boys absolutely love this place! The location can’t be beat—it’s so close to both the Meramac and Huzzah rivers for floating and fishing! They spent a couple of hours touring the Onondaga cave and several more floating the Huzzah. The fishing pond on the property provided entertainment and enjoyment for the boys while my husband sipped coffee in the early a.m. Unfortunately I was unable to join them for this trip and am bummed to have missed the fun. I would have loved to sit by the fire at dark listening to the sounds around me and seeing the Milky Way in the sky. Next time, I’ll be sure to be there!

Girls Trip

My sister in law and 2 of my adults children rented this charming house for a recent girls trip to hike and go tubing in the area. This house and property are very beautiful and well maintained. The house is bigger than we realized, providing good space to spread out but gather as well. The house has very comfortable furniture and the house is very well stocked with great attention to detail to help make your stay more comfortable. The grounds are well maintained as well with a pond down a short path and a nice fire pit area. We had storms one of the nights we were there and the property manager was very responsive, and planned ahead by messaging to give us a way to get our vehicle and ourselves out of the storm in the event the weather got worse.We would rent this home again when in the area for sure. Things to note however: With heavy rain there was water that gathered on the enclosed porch that did leak so we were not able to enjoy this area of the home, however there is another enclosed sun room with a nice table to use. There were also 3 spot light/camera looking devices in the corners of the common areas which I am not sure what they are exactly. I did ask the hostess but did not get an answer to that question. Even with these things I would still rent this home again (I would want to know what the light/camera things are),but overall we were all very pleased with our stay and would highly recommend this home and hostess.
