We were excited about this trip as we have never been to Maine. We were looking for something on the quiet side of Acadia so Southwest Harbor became the area we focused on. There were tons of listings and they all looked great but there was something about Grammys. Let’s just say location, location, location. The actual property was nicer than the photos, very well equipped and communication with property management was excellent! We enjoyed coffee on the deck while we overlooked the marina as lobster boats began their day. Hiking and sightseeing during the day was awesome but also tiring. Returning to Grammys, we enjoyed evening cocktails on the deck as we watched returning lobster boats off load their catches of the day. We chatted with several captains and crew about their day and even got their insights on best places for lobster!
Grammys was as much a part of our adventure as was Acadia or Swans Island. The atmosphere, sights and sounds of the marina enhanced our trip incredibly. As they advertise, this is indeed a working marina so there is some noise and commotion but we thought that was a plus!
We did cook in one night and the blackstone was awesome (had to take a break from all the lobster and butter :)) Sunsets were always a welcomed addition as we enjoyed the salty air and cocktails on the deck. The only possible draw back might be the two flights of stairs but we can assure you, it is worth it! Archie’s and Rodick’s are Captains choices!!! The best!!
