Classic coastal Maine farmhouse ideal for all your MDI & Acadia adventures!

Welcome to The Warren!

Overlooking Norwood Cove and the Causeway club, The Warren is easily within walking distance of downtown Southwest Harbor and nearly across the street from the Charlotte Rhodes butterfly garden.

This charming, vintage, and fully equipped house is available to rent for the first time ever! I have been vacationing here with friends and family since 2009 and very recently purchased the house from an old friend. My son and I still use it to this day and it remains my favorite place on earth! Elegant, relaxed, and everything thats lovely about being Downeast.

A large, fairly secluded deck and backyard is perfect for entertaining, grilling, enjoying the fire pit, or playing croquet!

Bar Harbor and all that means is only a 15 minute as are nearly every portion of Acadia National Park. I am happy to provide ample recommendations for both.

Hiking, kayaking, canoeing, boat tours, dining, LOBSTER, and plain old relaxation all around!

The Warren is a magical place you and your family and/or friends experience Maine as, indeed, the way life should be.

NOTE:
AppleTV + Wifi available. If you prefer to have an unplugged trip, let me know and I can switch them off :)

The fireplace in the "Library" does work, though we request only using Durflame logs to preserve the integrity of the chimney.

NO smoking inside the house.

Grill, croquet gear, and fire-pit provided!

The dishwasher and fridge are dated, please treat them according.

Please remove all food stuffs upon departure!

WEEKEND STAY
The check in process was easy with the code to type in at the entry door. The host gave a very detailed description of each room and where to find items throughtout. There were enough linens and towels. Quiet and lovely backyard. The only suggestion would be to add a lock to bathroom door in the left side bedroom upstairs. (for privacy as the door didnt stay shut) and maybe have a blow dryer in one of the houses. Overall a great house to stay and would recommend to others.

A historic experience
Overall, staying at the property was a good experience. But the place can use some deep cleaning inside and out. Overall the property was clean, but some of the furniture in the main bedroom and the utensils were dusty. The books in the property was a pleasant experiences, like a trip down history.

Great Summer Getaway
Comfortable sleeping with 4 twin beds and a queen. Can get warm inside on hotter days but that is to be expected. House was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. Owner was excellent with communication

Charming
A charming property with lovely garden (including a family of 3 deer) and interesting interior. The mural in the dining room was amazing. Communication with the host was excellent, and you can tell he cares about his guests. We had delicious blueberry ice cream down the road, played putt putt, hiked in Acadia, ate lobster rolls in Bar Harbor, and my husband walked to the beautiful butterfly garden nearby.

Anniversary Stay
My wife and I stayed here are really enjoyed it. We were the owner's (Nathan's) first guest. If you like a house that is a classic and has a lot of character then you will really enjoy this property. It has a ton of history and antique touches throughout. I would say a rare property these days. Lots of old books, stove, tub, and other items while having some updates in the kitchen. One night we came home and there was a family of deer in the lawn and we sat in the car and watched them for a few minutes while they watched us. The house is also close to downtime Southwest Harbor for cafes and restaurants. Great communication from Nathan and overall great stay!
