"Loved the hotel. So many things to do with kids. The beach is THE BEST! The food was good, many options. The water park had a lot of closed slides which was a bummer! Enjoyed the kids area with rock climbing, obstacle course, bowling and trampolines. "

"The property is pretty. A ton of vegetation. The wild life is everywhere, which is neat but also a nuisance. They come and steal food from you. The food is okay, just not a lot of variety. Entertainment is lacking as far as shows. We did go to the spa which was great. Other than the hot tub didn’t work, which we were not told before hand. The biggest issue was hot water in the rooms. We rarely had better than lukewarm. We tried at many different times of the day including 5:00 am and later...

"Second time staying here. Beautiful resort. Lots of amenities and restaurant choices. Several large pools. Beach is small but the pools make up for it. Erosion has made the beach area wanting. "

"We had a decent experience staying at the Royal Haciendas. The food is good especially the Asian fusion restaurant. But be aware it is really hard to get a table there as it is always fully booked. The beach is non existent don’t come here if you planning to spend time on the beach. A big portion of the beach has been claimed by the ocean and the resort has been left with a little to almost no beach. That small beach area is not maintained at all. "

"We had a good stay at the Reef with our family. Wish there were a few more food options. Especially as a vegetarian. Would be nice if they offered veggie things at the poolside restaurant. Buffet was good and service at the restaurant was always great. I really wish the entertainment started earlier. We have young kids and unfortunately had to miss out on the entertainment every night because it started at 9 or 9:30pm. Also the earliest you can eat dinner is 6:30pm which is quite late for kids...

"First time at this property, 5th time in Mexico and 2nd time at a Riu Resort (Ocho Rios). The property was beautiful, well laid out and maintained. It was spotless! Check-in was easy and our rooms were ready a couple hours early. The rooms were fresh, clean, no smells and the air conditioning worked perfectly. There is a tub in the middle of the room; weird but it made for a good clothes hanger! The beach and pool were perfect. Chair hogs around the pool but plenty of loungers on the beach....
