"Lovely 2 night stay at the Lion Hotel, regularly visit Shrewsbury and thought of staying here for a change , we were pleasantly surprised, after reading some of the reviews, so please do not discard this hotel because of some negative reviews, you need to stay here to find out for yourself. Easy check in , staff very helpful and always ready to greet you with a smile and hello. Room lovely and clean and nice and warm, as we're all the areas of the hotel. Breakfast was really good, plenty of it, and the lady at breakfast was so lovely, always smiling and nothing was too.much for her, thankyou. Will deffinately recommend the Lion hotel to friends and family, and we will be back. Also £5 per night to park your car there, which is really good value, and very convenient for shops and bars. "

"Great location, lovely hotel, great breakfast, friendly service. Our room was a bit hidden away and quite small with low ceilings, but it had charm, and I think it was the last one left."

"Everything about this hotel is absoluuuutely faaantastic!!! I've had spotlessly clean room's, with super duper comfy beds, fab food from the restaurant, stunning breakfast especially the unlimited full english- yuUUMMMM!, but i still reckon the staff here are Simply The Best!Like the Tina Turner Song. They're really hardworking, approachable and friendly, lovely oh and funny😁, which personally makes them all very special. Thank you to each and every one of them, and from the bottom of my heart.They're an asset to this hotel and our pretty town Shrewsbury. "

"All the staff were friendly and welcoming which we loved. The hotel is centrally located but in a very quite position. At breakfast there was a good choice and brilliant service. Our only negative is that it is a little dated but as it is well maintained and very clean we would absolutely stay here again. "

"Very warm, friendly welcome (The snow machine at the entrance was a nice seasonal touch). All the staff were polite, attentive and helpful. The restaurant food was excellent. It all made our anniversary stay special. The building has been beautifully decorated and quality furnished in keeping with its history. The surrounding grounds were an enjoyable walk. We look forward to revisiting and seeing them during summer. The hotel is a picturesque historic house and set in a rural location with a lengthy driveways to and from the main roads."
