Up front, why 3 stars? Checkin for the property is at 4 pm. When we arrived at 4:30, the property was not cleaned after the previous tenant.
The owner phone number goes to voice mail. I emailed, texted and left a message. I was on the phone with VRBO support when the owner called me back.
First option I was given was to go find a hotel.
On Sunday.
Memorial Day Weekend.
In Sedona where there are no vacancies.
Other option was to wait for Tim to come over and clean the property. We elected to go with that and grab dinner a few hours early. We were told to hold onto our receipt for dinner and they would cover it. This didn’t happen though. I don’t come back to remind them and beg, but it seems like a standard courtesy to come through on promises.
Condo was ready around 7. Towels were still a bit damp due to the dryer cycle being stopped early. Kitchen still had some kind of sticky residue on the floor and down the cabinets. Bits of paper and candy were found under beds and furniture.
Place was cleaned in a bit of a hurry, I can understand that. Overall, it was okay and hard to judge how it was supposed to be. We still paid full price for a 7 pm check in for a condo that was rushed so I can’t really be happy about it.
Aside from this, we did like the place. Kitchen was well stocked. Washer and dryer worked well. Pool was nice.
It is just hard to get over walking into someone else’s mess and having my evening and next morning plans upset.
