"Jim is a lovely and responsive host. The property is just as pictured on the website. The home is a treasure trove of objects from around the world. The bedrooms are comfortable and the kitchen has most all conveniences that we needed to prepare meals. We were there in early November, I'm sure it is even more beautiful during the summer and autumn months when you can enjoy the outside features. "

"A friend and I rendezvoused in the Canaan Valley in early November to hike in the nearby Dolly Sods and other trails in the area. Garagemahal was exactly as advertised: clean, quiet, spacious (for two people), and conveniently located. The owners/managers (Chip and Laurie), who live across the driveway, were friendly and available to provide information or report problems to (there weren't any), but were otherwise unobtrusive. We will return."

"Beautiful cabin nestled in the trees. Perfect place for visiting Blackwater Falls Park. The cabin was the perfect size and offered all of the amenities needed. We have our dog who always travels with us and this place was perfect for her too. The bed was very comfortable. I especially enjoyed the morning sunrise from the deck!"

"My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend and were pleasantly surprised by all the host had to offer! From complimentary snacks and drinks and a well stocked kitchen, to comfortable beds and a cozy wood-burning fireplace, we truly felt at home. "Had a such a great time at Jim's chalet. Location is amazing and the property had fantastic touches all throughout and was so comfortable. "We just spent a long ski weekend with two other families. Enjoyed the location, the open floor plan, the hot tub. Size wise the house was a little tight for the whole crew. Beds are squeezed into the two lower bedrooms and there’s no separate space for kids to hang out (which we knew) . Clearly has some new elements in the kitchen but missing a handful of kitchen items you’d expec and is otherwise updated from whnm it was built"

"This place is very nice. Views from the windows facing the southern valley are spectacular. Loved the area and the neighboring towns of Davis and Thomas. The property is nicely secluded on a gravel mountain road just off a paved road that is not busy. The hiking in the area was great. My only complaint is the check in process which included an extra 10 minute drive to a realty office where I received not a key but the four digit code to the door. This could have been emailed in my opinion....
