About this property

August Ringling Room - Stay in a piece of Sarasota history - Downtown & Beaches

Stay in a piece of Sarasota history! This upstairs guest room, a 1 BR, 1 private bath is located in one of three historically significant buildings near Downtown Sarasota and the beaches. 5 minutes to Downtown, 5 minute drive to Lido Key Beach, close to Siesta Key! We have on-site restaurant, coffee and tea shop, craft beer & wine bar, a small independent bookstore, live music Friday & Saturday evenings. Free drip coffee Tues-Sun in Coffee Shop beginning at 8a.

We have two on-site restaurants! Tuesday-Sunday Chef Jesus serves American fare breakfast and lunch from 8a-2p. Eat indoors at The Café or outdoors on our lovely courtyard.

The Reserve Kitchen by Chef Antonio is open 7 days a week. Dinner is served daily from 4:30-9:30pm. Enjoy lunch on Saturday and Sunday from noon-4. Dinner and lunch are served in a more formal setting in the lovely dining room.

Word has it that these very special three Reserve buildings were part of Charles Ringling’s estate before his mansion was built. Charles was John Ringling’s brother and a key founding partner in Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus. Once they made their fortunes, Charles built his mansion, and the buildings were then moved to their current location at 1322 N. Tamiami Trail, near Downtown Sarasota and the Van Wezel. Once on the Trail, the buildings were used as a boarding house, a circus performance venue, and much more!

Conveniently located near Downtown Sarasota, the beaches, St. Armand's Circle, many performing arts venues, restaurants, and more! A great Sarasota escape close to the arts and nature and much more.

Very close to all the arts (Van Wezel, Asolo, Florida Studio Theater, Sarasota Opera, Sarasota Ballet, Ringling Museum, Ca'D'Zan (John Ringling house), and much more.

Washer and dryer on-site, too. Beach chairs and beach towels can be checked out for your convenience. Too many great points to list here!

Pretty good. First time booking withVRBO. Staff was very helpful. Food was great. Didn’t like the steps. We are too old. Wasn’t able to contact owners on the phone. But it all turned out fine.

Hidden gem!
This historic resort has it all. Beautiful clean room with a B&B feel. Although the building is historic the bathroom was completely updated. The courtyard is the perfect outdoor setting between buildings for outdoor dining and listening to live music. The food is amazing, and the fish tacos are the best in town. The restaurant was busier than I expected the Host/Coffee Shop/Waitress was very friendly and helpful.

Great Weekend Getaway!
Enjoyed our 3 night stay at The Reserve Retreat. Great service, location (just over a mile north of Downtown Sarasota), accommodations, food as well as a few adult beverages accompanied by acoustic performances. Highly recommend!

This place is a gem!
If you are looking for a unique experience, this is the place. There is a collection of beautifully refurbished old houses that serve as guest rooms, wine and coffe bar and a beautiful and cozy dining room. There is a coutyard in the center where you can dine and listen to live music. The staff goes out of their way to make sure your experience is the best, friendly, and professional...especially Kat and Winifred! The food is absolutely 5 star...prepared perfectly...we ate several meals there. The only reason we gave 4 of 5 stars is the noise level in our room which could be an easy fix. We will be back!

Cozy and Convenient
Beautiful historic property! My husband and I loved the charm of the buildings and our room! The room was clean, nicely furnished and the bed was SOOOO comfortable! The only drawback for us was being so close to the road when we slept, BUT we used a noise app and were able to drown out most of the noise. The only suggestion I have would be to add a small rack to hang clothes, but truly this is very minor. The hosts and staff were very friendly. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice and noisy
Fun location with very friendly restaurant staff! The room itself was just fine but a bit noisy as it is right on a busy road! Also live music from the the restaurant downstairs until 10 pm but that was a good noise.

Excellent stay great crowd
Eclectic great vibe, the staff was extra helpful. This was an anniversary stay for my partner and I. The music was on point, the owners are an absolute pleasure. Overall a great local or out of town stay. Food was excellent and drink selections were phenomenal. Implements to the chef, for both dinner and Sunday brunch. Super relaxed late check in, no hassle with property access as everything is done with pin codes, had a late check out and enjoyed an amazing brunch. 10/10 would recommend.

Charming setting
This is a cozy place near several attractions. A coffee shop and book store on location as well as a specialty bar with beer and wine. Locals like to come by and relax and read. Across the street is a lovely park with water view.
