Nice place in Old San Jaun

We had no power the first day, but that was out of anyone’s control. Host offered to let us cancel- but power came on in a few hours. Other than that it was a very nice stay.

Wedding weekend

We stayed for a long weekend. The property was exactly like the pictures, clean and convient to most of Old San Juan. Communication was exceptional from a couple of days before arrival, helping us get into the unit, through checkout.

We loved this flat! The floors are gorgeous, high ceilings, beautiful patio, and right smack in the middle of the town. Perfect location, walked everywhere. Love love.

Spacious apartment in the heart of vibrant Old San Juan

In general we had a fantastic stay at this apartment. It is spacious, well located and cool. Having said this we would the equipement of the kitchen to be upgraded. Numbers of glasses especially are insufficient.

We stayed for 3 nights and could've spent a week exploring Old San Juan. The apartment is in a great location and we could walk everywhere. There are great restaurants and a grocery store nearby. My only complaint is the bed is a bit firm for my liking, but my husband liked it.

Perfect Spot For Friends

My friends and I stayed here for a week and we enjoyed every minute of it. The house is right in the middle of town and everything is a walk away. The house itself is super cute and comfortable. It had everything we needed and everything we didn’t know we needed. They were super accommodating. Would stay here again!

Fun in Old Town

The condo was great & the pictures of it are accurate. It was walking distance to all we wanted to do/see in old town. The AC worked well which was a must have due to the temps & humidity. I would recommend not renting a car unless absolutely necessary. PR's do not drive like mainland Americans & there is no need for a car in old San Juan. Next to the condo (2 Doors down) is a restaurant called St. Germain. I would recommend avoiding it. I do not know how they are still in business. However, there is a place right next door to that called The Mezzanine. They served great cocktails & food. The bartender, Ray, is a fantastic mixologist & also a music student at the university. When he is working he plays wonderful music which you can hear from the front door of the condo. 10/10 would recommend. Also, the info for this place recommends a restaurant for Mallorca. I forget the name but it is now closed for good. Try Cafe Mallorca instead. They were great! I would stay here again on future trips.

Such a gem!

Property was just as posted, clean and nice. They left extra laundry soap so we washed the towels for them before we left. The hot water control in master bath shower was very difficult to use. Couldn’t adjust was too hot or too cold. Humidity was horrible, the walls collected water and drip. Sheets and clothes felt wet. I feel the dryer needs to be vented. The air went back into apartment and collected more water on walls. 2 nd room ac dripped water onto headboard. Bed was Pulled out from wall and placed a towel placed to keep headboard dry. AC in master bedroom didn’t get very cool. We would definitely consider see staying here again and loved the location. Very central to town.

Disliked: Communication

NO AIR CONDITIONING for 9 Nights:

During the 9 nights we stayed at this property, we struggled to stay cool and get any of the appliances to work. Upon our arrival on Saturday, the air conditioning unit was not functioning. Before check in, the property manager stated a technician would be over to repair the unit on Monday. Communicating with the property manager turned out to be a waste of our valuable vacation time. After taking a deeper look at previous reviews for the property, we estimate the air conditioner has been pervasive problem for at least the past 8 months. They consistently failed to provide updates in a timely fashion or offer any viable solutions. We were offered a refund only if we vacated the unit, but it was not feasible as we were halfway through our stay and unable to find accommodations on short notice.Outside of the AC issues, we had to struggle with several appliances. The ceiling fan in the second bedroom only worked intermittently, and the ceiling fan in the living area was incorrectly wired so it only worked if the light was on. The master bathroom was also uncomfortable to use because the shower’s water was scalding hot and could not be adjusted. The clothes dryer was not vented to the outside and exhausted hot humid air directly into the living area. Additionally, the kitchen was barely functional for cooking as two burners on cooktop were not functioning, the oven and cooktop had no lights, and the refrigerator door hinges were bent making it difficult to close and seal.

AC wasn't working properly

The unit has 3 air conditioning split units, one for each room and one for the living area. None of the ACs worked properly and the heat was uncomfortable. Manager sent a handyman that confirmed our message that the units were not working properly but was not a repair man. Repairman never made it to fix the problem. I can understand if one of 3 units has an issue, but the 3 is not ok. Then I read a previous review that complained about the same thing, including not cooling properly and one unit dripping water over a bed. The manager offered a 30% discount which is appreciated.

Our stay at Villa Aurora was wonderful. The place was clean and decorated beautifully. The beds were very comfortable and check in and check out very easy. This is the place to stay if you’re going to explore old San Juan.

This is a fantastic villa located in the heart of old San Juan. Located within walking distance of fabulous cafés and historical landmarks. We had a great time and was able to navigate the city and see great sites without the need for any taxis or Uber! We are even even able to travel outside of old San Juan utilizing their scooters! Simply download a Bird app and rent as you go. Me and my mom loved it! From the beautiful location to the gorgeous amenities Avilla had to offer it is definitely a place you want to stay. I know we will be back! Highly recommend!
