We chose this hotel for location and price. It's super convenient to get anywhere in SF if you're using public transportation, which is recommended because driving sucks and parking is $$$! The rooms are dated and have a distinct smell, so we bought a scented candle at a farmers market and just left it open (but no open flame). That seemed to make things better! Otherwise the value was good for SF, the staff was friendly, and the hotel was quiet. There's the usual homeless problem, which is endemic to SF, but we never felt unsafe, even when we were out after sunset.
