"A lovely place to stay in Savai’i - the owners gave us a warm welcome and we felt right at home at this special place by the sea. It really is a ‘kick your shoes off and relax’ kind of place. The on site restaurant served delicious food, so we didn’t feel the need to leave the hotel. Definitely recommend if you want a simple, chilled and relaxing time."

"Loved the architecture and design. Extremely clean room with friendly customer service. Loved shopping at Janet’s which has huge range of gift options for family and friends. Room is spacious and provides a relaxing atmosphere. Have a range of food and drink options. Eco-friendly Christmas tree was made using recycled plastic bottles which I believe was a brilliant idea. "

"URGENT: do not stay unless you want you room to be broken into and all you money/ items stolen by the owners kids and family. On my last night after an amazing trip in Samoa I took a shower in this time the owner's son and nephew broke into my room stealing over $700 tala and items. This was denied by the whole family and water works put on knowing I had to leave in a few hours to the airport to fly back to Australia. For reference I notifies other people staying in the fales and everyone...

"Staff were sooooo lovely! My 2nd time back here and the service has always been the same. The only thing I would say about the property is that there are no phone lines in the rooms and no information booklets but the staff are so friendly and always willing to help so wasn’t really an issue for us. Will be coming back again every year. "

Awesome

"Stuff are very helpful and friendly.Room 44 it’s now my favourite room in this hotel. Specious, comfortable beds with a view. Breakfast every morning was a selection of fruits, homemade muffins, and more. Short walk to the main shopping area and market. Will recommend this hotel to anyone. Awesome value for money. 🙏"

"Fabulous location. Would have liked our own bathroom but the shared one worked OK. Great that breakfast and dinner included and nice food with generous helpings - just no choice what you get. Staff are lovely and very helpful. A fab place for those with a modest budget wanting a great experience and top location"

"The Lava Hotel is lovely place to stay. The Staff is welcoming, accommodating and friendly. The food is delicious. There is live entertainment on certain days. The location is in a village which gives the atmosphere you would want when trying to be absorbed in the Samoan culture. From the island’s warm breeze to its beautiful surroundings, you would be transported to tranquility. I highly recommend this hotel to any travelers looking for authenticity. "
